ALDA is Developing to Support Alabama Doulas, Mamas, and Families
The vision for the Alabama Doula Alliance (ALDA) is still in its early stages! While currently composed of a core team of active Alabama doulas, we look forward to seeing this vision grow and for more teams to develop. Our aim is to address key doula-and-family related issues locally and across the state.
ALDA is Developing Around a Cooperative Team Model With 3 Primary Goals
The Alabama Doula Alliance — ALDA — 3 goals are:
- To connect, nurture, and support doulas in their professional journeys,
- To provide resources to Alabama families preparing for birth and postpartum, and
- To elevate doula voices, network on important issues for quality representation, and partner with reliable stakeholders across the community.
The current ALDA Support Team includes doulas serving in multiple areas across the state. We desire to see the representation of Alabama doulas increase as ALDA develops, and we’re inviting Alabama Doulas to join us in furthering this vision!
